One of our favorite "recent discoveries" in Pittsfield is the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts. Housed in a historic building in downtown Pittsfield, it boasts studio spaces, a gallery, performance area and workshops for both children and adults. Located at 28 Renne Avenue, just off Fenn Street between First and North Streets. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 12 noon through 5pm. The Lichtenstein Center is also home to the city's Office of Cultural Development. Director of Cultural Development, Megan Whilden, is doing an incredible job of promoting, supporting and initiating cultural activities in the city of Pittsfield, and Marla N. Robertson, Manager, helps make sure those activities run smoothly. Our family seemed to always find out about events the day after they took place. No longer...we signed up for the free Cultural Pittsfield newsletter and now know the who, what, when and where of the town's happenings.
