One Year Bible

Wanna come along for the ride?

I'll be reading through the Bible this year using the schedule from One year Bible (download for free). I chose it because it has a daily selection from the Psalms and Proverbs as well as the Old and New Testaments. It's mom's turn to follow Charlotte Mason's advice and read with attention, know what I have read, recollect it and justly apply my reading as I seek the Spirit and the word of life.

What about you? Let me know if you would like to join me or tell me about your yearly reading...

Psalm 26:7 That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works!

I hope you go well with that.
I am sad to say I have begun a one year plan on a number on January 1s but the daily quantity is just too much for me. I still read from Psalms and Proverbs each day, but found it more achievable to do either OT or NT and spread it over 2 years.
Of late I am having eye trouble and so have downloaded my Bible on CD to the computer and have begun listening as I read along. My eyes were such that progress was becoming very slow. This is going well so far and I am also using Matthew Henry commentary on the net (that small writting became just too hard to manage)
Blessings in 2010!

Hi Richele,
Thank you for the encouragement and incentive to start a Bible reading plan - I have decided to start the Chronological Bible reading plan.

I pray that your Bible reading plan will bless you immensely. :)

Sounds like a good plan, Richelle! I'm wanting to read through the One Year Bible myself (I actually have a bound copy) but rather than give myself a certain amount to read, I'm setting the timer and will read what I can within that time. If it takes longer than a year, so be it. It will be my determined effort to be in God's Word consistently. May He guide your steps! Happy New Year!

Thanks so much for your comments. Ruby, I am sure listening to the Word spoken is so wonderfull! I am hoping to pray-read most of my daily readings aloud.

Do you have any idea how encouraging it is to know we'll all be wallowing in the Word this year?! May it bring life to you all!

What a wonderful idea! I would love to know how you incorporate bible reading with your children! Do you do something different with them?

Hey CB, nee TM, Max reads the Proverb & Psalm for the day (ie if it is the 14th he reads Prov. Ch. 14 & Psalm 14) on his own. We begin the school day with a verse.

For History/Geography/Bible this year we are using Simply Charlotte Mason's "Genesis through Deuteronomy & Ancient Egypt" which we love. It is so simple to combine different grade levels with this.

We use the Voss Children's Bible for bedtime reading. Max & Luca also love the graphic novel "Good & Evil."
